Indian Wines

Well.. changing the topic this time..you can professional topic...I am born and brought up in Nasik, grape city.. wine capital you can say. So its about Indian wines and grapes.. earlier grapes were produced only for domestic market.. i.e. before 1990's.. however it was not worth the efforts... productivity was less.. and profits were low. People then started thinking about international market..

Previously it was believed that exporting the produce to western countries was impossible.. and then there were people who made it possible.. yes it was certainly not easy, but then the quality norms the certifications and other complications made that quite difficult, but then there were people like Balasaheb jagtap broke the jinx ever since then there were numerous exporters and Importers people now say that the business has saturated. Why? because the supply is far more than the demand .. that's what people believe .. I don't think so. But still people do make money.. But I think innovation continues.

People like change rather than continue with the same stuff.. And next step was Wine Manufacturing. Now this was not easy..But then as I said no one can just stand at one point.. No matter what. Marketing was a very important part of this business and that's where people like Chaughule and Samant have the edge over others, ( http://www.sulawines.com ) who went on to establish their Wine brand in the International Market too. Sula Vineyards has quickly gained a reputation as India’s #1 premium wine company since the launch of the company’s first wines in 2000. And I notice people here just follow the others who are doing good.. no matter what. Some one sets the trend and all the others go with that. Now there are like one thousand Grape Exporters from Nasik itself and there are a few from Sangli, Latur, Hyderabad.. but very few .. I am sure as I have been there. Also Sangli is famous for Qualitative export. So that's how it has basically evolved.

What next? Not very sure but still there are many of them Yet to start the wine.

I will try to come up with more information on top wine Manufacturers in India shortly..

...To be continued.
